KABAK TATLISI (Pumpkin Dessert)


1- Peel pumpkin ans slice into small pieces of 5-6 cm. long.
2- Wash pieces in cold water and place in wide pan.
3- Pour 500 ml. water over pumpkin pieces, cover, and cook on medium heat.
4- When most of the water has evaporated, sprinkle sugar over pumpkin , cover and allow to simmer until sugar has dissolved and syrup has slightly thickened.
5- When pumpkin is cooked, remove from heat and allow to cool.
6- Place pumpkin on serving dish and pour remaining syrup over pieces. Sprinkle with crushed walnuts before serving.

This is wonderful, light and extremely easy to make dessert. Just another way to make use of a great vegetable.
