Etli Bamya (Okra with Meat)


  1. 300 grams diced meat
  2. 500 grams fresh okra
  3. 1 lemon
  4. 2 tomatoes, peeled and chopped
  5. 3 onions, chopped finely
  6. 2 tablespoons oil
  7. salt

1- Wash okra and pat dry in paper towel.
2- Trim the tops of the okra. Rinse in cold water and set asie to drain.
3- Lightly brown meat and onions in oil. Add tomatoes and cook until tomatoes soften.
4- Add 1 litre hot water to meat and cook until meat is tender.
5- Squeeze juice of lemon onto meat and add okra. Stir through.
6- Cook until okra is tender. Remove from heat and serve with rice.
