Taze Etli Bezelye (Diced Meat and Peas)


  1. 1 kg. fresh peas
  2. 300 grams diced lamb
  3. 1 tablespoon margarine or vegetable oil
  4. 2 onions, thinly diced
  5. 2 tomatoes, peeled and diced
  6. 1-2 green peppers, thinly sliced
  7. salt

1- Shell peas and wash under cold water.
2- Fry diced lamb, onions and peppers in margarine or oil.
3- Add tomatoes and cook lightly.
4- Add peas, salt and enough hot water to slightly cover meat and vegetables.
5- Cook on medium heat until meat and vegetables become tender. Dish should retain an adequate amount of juices. Serve hot with rice or on its own.
