The god of moon in ancient Anatolia was called Men. This was a highly respected Anatolian god.
The temple which was dedicated to Men was located at the tip of the peninsula, next to the harbour. It was also at the end of the main road, between the Gate of Vespasian and the harbour. It is estimated to be built in the 3rd century B.C.
The temples right in between the harbour and the temple of Men is thought to be the temples of Athena and Apollo. During the following centuries, a basilica was built on the ruins of these two temples. These two temples are situated to the southwest of the Harbour Bath which was built in the 2nd century B.C. with typical Roman bath features.
