The Cluny Museum (middle ages) which has a veritable wealth of emotion and mystery: the Unicorn Lady ("le Dame a la Licorne") Visit the thermal baths and the roman remains. Les Invalides, built on the initiative of Louis XIV, is a monumental and imposing construction. See Napoleon's tomb and the Museum of the Army. The Musee d'0rsay was formerly a station. Nowadays it is home to the magnificent 19th century museum. It is here that the finest selection of paintings by French impressionists is to be found.
The Musee Rodin has a fine collection of the artist's works, as well as some outstanding sculptures by Camille Claudel.
The Center Georges Pompidou - National Museum of Modern Art, Situated in the heart of Paris, this has an extraordinary collection of works by Matisse, Miro, Picasso and temporary exhibitions which are a mark of its significance to the world of art. Do not miss the new gallery in the National Museum of Natural History, the musee Guimet dedicated to the Asian arts and the Institute of the Arabian World.
