If you are coming from the Atlantic and you want to go and bathe in the warm water of the Mediterranean, this is the most picturesque route! Climb aboard in Bordeaux and glide under the bridges of this marvelous town; you will pass by some delightful vineyards producing some prestigious wines, on to a beautiful fortress unchanged by time - Cadillac. At Castets take the lateral canal to the Garonne, admire the romanesque church of Mas d'Agenais. Cross the Garonne beneath an astonishing work of art. After Agen, glide towards Moissac, stopping for some excellent meals. Then set off again, for Toulouse is awaiting you. You are on the Canal du Midi, surrounded by fields of maize and church steeples and arrive at the col of Naurouze. You sail on towards the Mediterranean. Castelnaudary is reflected in the water. Carcassonne enchants you from the height of its citadel and the marvels go on and on..now you find yourself in the vineyards of the Minervois and Corbieres, and the splendid Beziers..You can smell the sea air. Visit Agde with its ancient romanesque cathedral, then moor in Sete, a fabulous resort surrounded by water... (journey of 500 km).
