THE LOVE HOUSE (Ephesus)
The Love House was located behind the Byzantine stoas and the Hadrianus temple. It was right across the Library on the main road.
The building was a typical two storey peristyled (courtyard) Ephesus house. It is estimated to be built in the 1st century during emperor Traian. It is known to be used until the 7th century.
The second floor is totally destroyed throughout the centuries. The first floor walls were full of frescos. The courtyard of the love house was covered with mosaics. There were signs showing the location of the Love House on the Curettes Road.
