THE HELLENISTIC FOUNTAIN (Ephesus)

The Hellenistic fountain located just across the Theater facing to the west was built in traditional Ionian style. It is estimated to be built in the 3rd century B.C.

This elegant Hellenistic fountain with two columns on the front is a very unique example of the careful and stylish Ionian workmanship. The column heads and pedestals are of great interest to spectators.
